This vegan matcha latte recipe is so smooth, delicious, and creamy! It comes together with just four whole-food plant-based ingredients and could even replace your morning cup of joe.

Matcha Latte

I need to be honest with you… For the past five years of my life I thought matcha powder was kind of gross. I had tried it a few times in various drinks, and really didn’t understand the hype.

That’s until I tried this amazing creamy matcha latte recipe. I can’t take all the credit for this ridiculously simple recipe, because it was actually my fiance who created it!

He made this latte for himself one morning, and in typical Carleigh fashion, I snuck a sip without him knowing. You can’t imagine my surprise when I tasted this creamy, dreamy drink and realized I had been missing out on truly delicious matcha all of these years!

What’s In A Matcha Latte?

For this matcha latte, you only need four really simple ingredients:

  • Matcha powder
  • Plant-based milk
  • Dates
  • Cinnamon

It’s seriously that simple! You could also add some coconut whipped cream to this latte for a really fun morning drink.

How to Make Matcha Latte

All you have to do is simply blend your almond milk, matcha powder and dates in a high-speed blender until smooth.

If your blender has a soup setting, you can even heat your latte in the blender. Otherwise, warm it up in the microwave or steam with the coffee maker.

Then, sprinkle some cinnamon on top and enjoy!

Is Matcha Good For You?

Matcha is often touted as a superfood, because it is potent in antioxidants called polyphenols. These antioxidants have been touted for helping people control their blood sugar as well as having anti-aging benefits.

Matcha does contain caffeine. A matcha typically contains around 34g of caffeine, which is comparable to a cup of coffee.
