Equipment

Ingredients

  • 2 oranges peeled
  • 2 lemons peeled, seeds removed
  • 3 inch ginger root peeled
  • 1 tbsp turmeric
  • 1 tbsp maple syrup
  • 1 cup filtered water
  • 1 pinch black pepper

Instructions

  • Combine all ingredients together in a blender or food processor until smooth.
  • Transfer to an ice cube tray, and freeze at least overnight. Add hot water or cold water when you want to make a soothing tea.

Notes

  • Swap maple syrup for agave, date syrup, or another liquid sweetener. You can even use vegan honey!
  • Add a pinch of cayenne for a spicy boost that helps clear congestion.
  • Steep a peppermint or chamomile tea bag in the hot water for extra flavor.
  • Simmer the blended mixture on the stove before freezing for a bolder ginger taste.
  • Add these Starbucks medicine ball ice cubes to savory dishes for a citrus and ginger flavor bomb.
  • Depending on the size of the ice cubes, you may use one or more per cup.
