This Birthday Cake Smoothie is a creamy, dreamy, protein packed VEGAN shake you will be dying to make again and again for breakfast or a snack.

What if you could have all the delicious flavors of a fluffy and delicious birthday cake in smoothie form?!

At Plant You, we deliver. You guys are going to go nuts over this Birthday Cake Smoothie recipe.

The best part… It doesn’t have to be your birthday to enjoy this decadent vegan smoothie! We utilize healthy, whole food plant based ingredients so you can feel great about drinking it.

What’s in a birthday cake smoothie?

For this delicious birthday cake smoothie, we use just a few simple plant-based ingredients.

Here’s the lineup:

  • 1 large frozen banana
  • 1 cup of creamy cashew milk
  • 1/4 cup of rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup of ice
  • 1 tsp of vanilla extract
  • 1 scoop vegan vanilla protein powder (we suggest Truvani)
  • coconut whipped cream (optional)
  • sprinkles (optional)

I promise you, this delicious thick vanilla smoothie tastes just like birthday cake! We love to top ours with coconut whip cream for that ultimate birthday cake look, but for an even healthier shake you could have yours without.

What makes this smoothie taste like cake batter?

We were able to achieve a birthday cake flavor with the combination of the oats (like a flour), banana for sweetness, and vanilla extract for that extra bit of cakey goodness.

If you top this with coconut whipped cream and sprinkles like we suggest, it’s like icing on a delicious vanilla cake!

What protein powder do you use?

One of the most popular questions I get asked by followers on Instagram is “what protein powder do you use?”

If you’ve been vegan for awhile, and dabbled in protein powder, you know it can be near impossible to find one that mixes well, doesn’t taste like pure sugar and is made up of clean ingredients.

Enter Truvani. This company founded by Vani Hari of FoodBabe has the highest quality standards I’ve ever seen of a supplement company, and you will go absolutely crazy for the taste of their amazing vanilla protein powder.

You can grab yours here.

What blender do I use for this smoothie?

If you’ve been following me for awhile, you would know I am absolutely obsessed with my Vitamix.

Truly nothing comes close to the blending power of a Vitamix! It’s certainly an investment piece, but in my opinion worth the buy if you find yourself mixing up smoothies or plant-based sauces often.

Here’s the Vitamix I use (this is an affiliate link) and I absolutely swear by: VITAMIX EXPLORIAN
