This vegan Matcha Latte Recipe is so smooth, delicious and creamy and comes together with just four whole-foods, plant-based ingredients. It could even replace your morning cup of joe!

Matcha Latte

I need to be honest with you… For the past five years of my life I thought matcha powder was kind of gross. I had tried it a few times in various drinks, and really didn’t understand the hype.

That’s until I tried this amazing creamy Matcha Latte Recipe. I can’t take all the credit for this ridiculously simple recipe, because it was actually my fiance who created it!

He made this latte for himself one morning, and in typical Carleigh fashion I snuck a sip without him knowing. You can’t imagine my surprise when I tasted this creamy, dreamy drink and realized I had been missing out on truly delicious matcha all of this years!

What’s In A Matcha Latte?

For this Matcha Latte Recipe, you only need four really simple ingredients.

This includes:

  • Matcha Powder
  • Almond Milk (You could use oat or soy milk as well)
  • Dates
  • Cinnamon

It’s seriously that simple! You could also add some coconut whipped cream to this latte for a really fun morning drink.

How Do You Make A Matcha Latte?

To make this Matcha Latte Recipe, we suggest using a high speed blender. For our recipe, we actually used our Vitamix, which heats the drink for you making it super handy! You can purchase the exact model we have and love from Amazon here (this is an affiliate link).

All you have to do is simply blend your almond milk, matcha powder and dates in the blender until a smooth consistency is formed. Using your vitamix, you can set it to the soup setting in order to heat your latte in the blender.

Then just sprinkle some cinnamon on top and enjoy!

Is Matcha Good For You?

Matcha is often touted as a superfood, because it is potent in antioxidants called polyphenols. These antioxidants have been touted for helping people control their blood sugar as well as having anti-aging benefits.

Matcha does contain caffeine. A matcha typically contains around 34g of caffeine, which is comparable to a cup of coffee.

Where can I get matcha powder?

We would definitely suggest getting organic matcha powder. We personally like this ceremonial grade brand you can purchase from Amazon (affiliate link).

Some reports say that matcha green tea powder can contain pesticides because of the way it is harvested, which is why I suggest that you buy an organic version just to be sure!

Where can I find some other morning drinks to enjoy?

I’ve got good news! We have a ton of yummy plant-based drinks you can enjoy on Plant You instead of a latte.

Here are a few of our favorites.
